Terms of service

The Service is offered to organizations. The person accepting these Terms confirms they are authorized to bind the organization they name. Individual use of DMCN is governed by the consumer terms at dmcn.email.

DMCN provides end-to-end encrypted email between DMCN accounts on your organization's domain and others, together with a bridge for sending to and receiving from standard email addresses. Mail crossing that bridge is protected in transit but is not end-to-end encrypted.

We may update, add or remove features over time. We will not intentionally weaken the core privacy and custody guarantees described in our documentation without clear notice.

The Service operates on a domain your organization controls. You retain control of your DNS and your domain's trust records at all times; we provide no DNS service. Hosting requires mutual authorization — your domain enrolling us as operator, and our fleet accepting your domain — and either party may revoke that authorization as set out in the order.

On a managed domain, your designated administrator is the custodian of account keys: your organization provisions, recovers and deprovisions accounts. We never hold key material — encrypted or otherwise — and therefore cannot recover accounts or read mail. Your organization is responsible for safeguarding its ceremony keys and administrator credentials.

Managed accounts are identified as such in the product, so account holders can see that their organization's administrator can recover their mailbox.

Your organization agrees not to use the Service to send spam, malware, or unlawful content, to infringe others' rights, or to attempt to disrupt the network or other users. Sending limits protect the network and the bridge's deliverability; we may adjust them to prevent abuse.

Fees are set out in your order, billed per managed domain in advance. Pilot terms, including duration and success criteria, are agreed in writing before the pilot begins. Either party may decline to continue after a pilot.

The Service is delivered over a decentralized network designed to avoid single points of failure. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for delays outside our reasonable control. Service-level commitments, where offered, appear in your order.

You may terminate as set out in your order and export your organization's mail at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach or use that harms others or the network. On termination, your keys, your domain and your exported data remain yours.

The Service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted, DMCN's aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the amounts your organization paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify your administrator before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect means your organization accepts the updated Terms.
